This weekend I ate at Lebanese Taverna, one of my favorite restaurants in Harbor East, Baltimore. The restaurant serves authentic Middle Eastern cuisine and has several locations in the Maryland/Washington area. I absolutely love Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food especially because of the mezze-style spreads- small plates, dips and salads made for sharing.
Located right next to the harbor, this restaurant has a delightful waterfront view with the option of dining outside. They also have a special happy hour menu, from 4-7 PM, which includes endless hummus, low-cost drinks and popular appetizers.
Chef's Platter
Sampling of hummus, baba ghanoush, tabouleh, lebneh, grape leaf, falafel, fatayer spinach, kibbeh, m'saka
Fatayer Trio
Cheese, spinach, beef & lamb pastries (the cheese pastry was my favorite)
Mouzat: slow cooked lamb shank, artichoke, potato, tomato, lamb reduction. This dish was spot-on. The meat fell right off the bone with the touch of my fork and melted in my mouth.
Homemade pita was served in the beginning and it was warm, soft and delicious!
Grilled Shrimp Kabob with Lemon-cilantro marinade, garlic, onions, and Lebanese rice.
