The Best Restaurants in Florence, Italy

September 7, 2019

If you're heading to the foodie destination of Florence it's only natural to want all of the best pasta, pizza, and bruschetta that the city has to offer (and there's a lot of it!). I've been scrolling through my blog's Instagram feed and reminiscing about my recent trips to Italy and the amazing culinary adventures I had there. To make your planning easier, I've rounded up the top 5 best restaurants in Florence that are must-tries, whether it's your first or third time visiting. And while you're here, check out my several other Italy destination guides

1. La Buchetta Food & Wine

One of the best meal's I've ever had in Italy was at La Buchetta Food & Wine Restaurant. You definitely need a reservation for this spot, so plan in advance and don't miss out. This creamy gnocchi was to die for. If you want a warm staff, quality food, and an authentic real Italian meal, then this is where you should be.

 2. Gustapizza

A favorite of locals and tourists alike, Gustapizza  is one of the best fast casual pizza spots in Florence. They are known for their Instagram-worthy heart-shaped pies, which you've most likely seen all over your social media feed. Besides that, the ingredients are fresh and pizzas are delicious.

3. Trattoria Anita

Trattoria Anita is a typical Italian restaurant which offers delicious Tuscan meals and attracts their customers with a homely and friendly atmosphere. It's located walking distance from the city center and close to all of the best gelato shops.

4. Pizza Napoli 1955

In Florence, you are spoiled with pizza choices, and Pizza Napoli 1955 is the finest example of the true essence of pizza. Pictured below was a pesto, mozzarella, fresh tomato homemade pizza - so worth it! The staff is super friendly and there's outdoor high top seating that's great for people watching.

5. Se·sto on Arno

Located on the rooftop of a hotel, Se·sto on Arno has it all: an up and coming chef with Michelin background, a unique setting in the heart of Florence, and iconic views of the city. Aside from the regular lunch and dinner menus, there's also an Aperitif Buffet (28 euro per person) with a selection of Italian cheeses, cold cuts, nuts, and more, making it. the perfect setting for a drink while watching the sunset.
